Our Story

itumi began with a simple realization: a beautiful scent can make an ordinary moment feel abundant. 

Candles can turn ordinary routines into rituals, evoke memories we thought we had forgotten, and make even an uncertain season feel softer and more beautiful. I remember a time when life was difficult, but I had a new book from the bookstore, a candle burning nearby, and a deep sense of contentment. I did not have everything I was working toward, yet that small ritual made the life I already had feel warm, hopeful, and abundant. That feeling stayed with me. After spending years in California and returning home to Michigan in time for my first autumn back, I wanted to create fragrances that could hold emotion, preserve memories, and help people feel more present in their own lives. Each itumi candle is hand-poured in small batches in Grand Blanc and designed to make the everyday feel meaningful—to remind you that you can appreciate where you are while still dreaming about where you are going.
